As always the writing style was great, the story moved along quickly but you got the time to get to know the characters and to either fall in love with them or hate them. An amazing book, but I hated the ending because it leaves me craving the next book! Jul 08, Eileen Thornton rated it it was amazing Shelves: vampire , blood , satan.
When Rose and her children set sail, they believe they will be met by, Louis, her husband at the end of the voyage. However, she finds the ship has been taken over by the evil demon, Eco and a band of vampires. He tells her that he loves her and makes her read his journal; a confession of his life since the beginning of time. This is the first vampire book I have read and I found it very hard to put down.

The author has created characters that almost leap out from the pages, urging you read on. A When Rose and her children set sail, they believe they will be met by, Louis, her husband at the end of the voyage. Among the vampires Eco has raised, there are also characters from history, such as Cleopatra and Attila, who all blend into the story making it a not to be missed read. The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion. In The House on Blackstone Moor we met Rose a young woman who came home one night to find her family had been murdered.
She was sent to the hospital and then spent some time in an asylum.
Then she was given a job as governess to the Darton's children Ada and Simon. Rose and the children's father Louis fell in love. They left Blackstone Moor because of everything that The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. They left Blackstone Moor because of everything that they had all been through there and everything that happen to them in the house.
Later on Louis writes Rose a letter with money for her and the children to book passage on a ship to join him in America. Rose finds out after boarding the ship that it has been taken over by Eco, Louis' cousin. Eco is a demon and Fallen Angel like Louis but they are not alike in any way. Louis is and tries to be a good person unlike Eco who has always been evil.
Anything that pertains to evil then Eco has been a part of it. Eco has lived for a very long time and has been a part of or a witness to things like the Ancient Egyptian vampire cults to Roman vampire brothels to The Dark Ages, The Crusades, and The black Death in How can anyone be so evil?
Eco claims to be in love with Rose and has taken over the ship so that he can threaten her into reading his diary.
The House On Blackstone Moor By Carole Gill
How can anyone with so much evil and hate in his heart love anybody? A dairy or journal that he has written of his life experiences. Eco's journal or life is filled with darkness, evil, dreadful, frightful, terrible, grisly and horrific events that he has been a part of or witnessed through out his lifetime. Will Rose and the children get off the ship? Both books are fantastic reads. Carole knows how to write a story that will keep you hanging on each word wanting to know what is going to happen next. I can only image the research and the books that she has read and the time spent in writing The Blackstone Vampires Series.
You could read Unholy Testament - The Beginnings first and still know and understand what is going on. But by reading The House on Blackstone Moor first you will find out more about Rose who she is and where she came from. You will get to know all the characters like who they are and what their roles are and who and how Rose came to know them. If you like reading dark horror that is evil, grisly and very horrific like I do then you will love Unholy Testament - The Beginnings.
I love horror in any shape, form or fashion. The scarier it is as they say the better I like it. I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series Unholy Testament - Full Circle. Anyway, I decided to pick this up and try to read. And here goes my short review: The first two chapters started slow, and adding the dull effect of the cover art to me, I felt my interest slipping away. I had my fair share of reading vampire-inspired novels, and I think that others are just echoing what published authors already did. I half-expected this book to turn out that way, but hey, I was in for a surprise.
I love history, and the author weaved her story from that. I liked meeting historical figures and I am glad to note that the author used facts as bases for her story. They were vaguely described in the beginning which left me confused. The writing and introduction were good and realistic. There were human emotions there. I felt frustrated to some characters, but I guess they were created with that intention.
Overall, this book is okay to me. The story ended so unkindly, but this is to make me feel hopeful of the next book that will come soon. In book 2 we seen Louis and Rose running from one city to the next.
The Blackstone Vampire Omnibus | Spreading the Writer's Word
Hiding from the "vampire hunters". They remained at Lancaster for 3 years and was happy. Then one day a letter came for Louis. We see him leaving to help another coven, one that he is somewhat tied to. Rose and the children remained hopeful that he would return. That day came when a letter with money arrived they would be boarding a ship to go and meet Louis. When boarding the ship something did not seem right to Rose, was it the fog??
She and the children would soon find out. He wants Rose to read his journal, his testament and confession that he made just for Rose. How he loved her from the first time he laid eyes on her. This is another very dark novel. I have to admit I had some trouble getting Thur book 2 lots of violence and very evil writings. This book stayed with me into my dreams. Wende Sheets stars - 4 complimentary book given for a free review. Eco is back!!!!! And thus my nightmares are going to start up again!!! I love Carole Gill's ability to engross the reader into the story so well that you actually feel like you're there.
Eco has Rose and the Children trapped on a ship to which he's not letting them go until she reads his journal. As if he'll do it after that either This journal is suppose to make Rose feel for dear sweet, misunderstood Eco and how she sh Eco is back!!!!!
This journal is suppose to make Rose feel for dear sweet, misunderstood Eco and how she should see him differently. I mean really Heaven forbid we mention the whole Bird Creatures Personally I loved every page of this book, the story is so in dept. All of the hideous secrets of Blackstone House are revealed.
Every evil that Rose Baines was subjected to is closely examined, as are those who committed the worst sins against her. Once there, she is seduced and turned by the count and becomes his fourth bride. The other brides are to be her sisters. All are to love and feed upon one another. It is a tale of love and lust but mostly of blood, for the blood is everything. Like this: Like Loading Post to Cancel.
